Restaurants in Rovaniemi: Where to Eat | LaplandDining
Eight restaurants in Rovaniemi, from reindeer fillet on Valtakatu to the highest-rated kitchen on this site. Ratings, review quotes and menu links.
The densest cluster of tables in Lapland — and five of them share four streets.
Rovaniemi is the one town in Lapland where you can choose a restaurant on foot. Nili and Arctic Restaurant sit almost opposite each other on Valtakatu and cover the reindeer-and-cloudberry end of the menu at €€€. A few hundred metres away, Roka Street Bistro on Ainonkatu and Cafe & Bar 21 on Rovakatu are the rooms locals use on an ordinary Tuesday. The highest rating here is not Lappish at all: Hanki, a Korean kitchen on Korkalonkatu, holds 4.9 from more than a thousand reviews.
The five city-centre restaurants are within 500 m of each other — the whole choice is one walk.
Three are outside the centre: Sky Kitchen & View 2.4 km out, Kotahovi 6.8 km out on the Santa Claus Village road, and All About Salmon at the village itself.
Hanki, at 4.9, is the highest-rated restaurant anywhere on this site — and it is Korean, not Lappish.
Restaurants in Levi: Where to Eat | LaplandDining
Nine restaurants at Levi, Finland's biggest ski resort: the panoramic dining room, Italian by the slopes, and the local rooms in Sirkka village.
Finland's biggest ski resort eats like one — volume, terraces and long review counts.
The village at the foot of the fell is officially Sirkka, and almost every address here says so. Panoramic Restaurant TUIKKU has by far the most reviews here. Ämmilä and Wanha Hullu Poro are next door to each other on Rakkavaarantie, Ristorante Renna does Italian a street away, and Saamen Kammi, Riihi, Boneless and Kekäle fill in around the centre. Ratings here run a little lower than elsewhere in Lapland — 4.1 to 4.6 — on review counts several times higher, which is what a resort feeding thousands a week tends to look like.
Levi's postal addresses say Sirkka or Kittilä. It is the same resort — the village is Sirkka, the municipality is Kittilä.
Kittilä village itself is 17 km away and has no restaurant on this site.
Panoramic Restaurant TUIKKU is 2.4 km from the village centre and has more reviews than any other table at Levi.
Restaurants in Ylläs: Where to Eat | LaplandDining
Seven restaurants at Ylläs, split between Äkäslompolo and Ylläsjärvi on opposite sides of the fell — plus one at the summit. Ratings and menu links.
Two villages, one fell, and about 11 km between your table and the other one.
Ylläs is not a village but two, on opposite sides of the fell. Äkäslompolo in the north has Ravintola Rouhe, Ylläksen Eväskori & Joiku Pub and Los Lompolo's; Ylläsjärvi in the south has Ravintola Otso and Restaurant Ylläskota. Between them, Ylläskammi's address is the summit of Ylläs itself. Rouhe carries the most reviews here by a wide margin; Los Lompolo's the highest rating, at 4.7 on a much smaller count.
Äkäslompolo and Ylläsjärvi are about 11 km apart around the fell. Check which village your restaurant is in before you set off.
Ylläskammi is on the fell top, not in either village.
Ylläs means Äkäslompolo on this site when no village is named — Ylläsjärvi is always named.
Restaurants in Saariselkä: Where to Eat | LaplandDining
Seven restaurants in Saariselkä, all walkable: a 4.8-rated kitchen, a gastropub, a Sámi-style lávvu and the village burger place. Ratings and menu links.
A small fell village with the widest spread of ratings on this site.
Saariselkä is compact enough that the choice is a walk, not a drive — two of them are on the same street. What is unusual here is the range: Fieno holds 4.8 across 529 reviews and Gáldu a clean 5.0, while ScanBurger, Lieggâ Láávu and Bistro & Cafe Kuukkeli sit between 4.1 and 4.2. Gastropub Giitu, at 4.7, is the one Google files under Inari — it is in Saariselkä.
